David Gurwitz is an Associate Professor at the Department of Human
Molecular Genetics and Biochemistry, Sackler Faculty of Medicine, Tel Aviv
University, Tel Aviv, Israel. In addition, he is the Director of the National
Laboratory for the Genetics of Israeli Populations (NLGIP) at the same faculty.
He earned a PhD in Biochemistry from Tel-Aviv University in 1986. Following his
postgraduate training (UCI, CA, USA), he worked for five years at the Israel
Institute for Biological Research before moving to Tel-Aviv University Faculty
of Medicine in 1995 to establish the Natinal Laboratory for the Genetics of
Israeli Populations (NLGIP).
His current research focuses on genomic biomarkers for precision medicine of CNS disorders. He published over 150 manuscripts, including in Nature and Science, and serves as a Senior Editor for the journal Pharmacogenomics and editorial board member for several reputable journals, including Trends in Molecular Medicine, npj Genomic Medicine, and Drug Development Research, among others.
