Medical applications: Skyscape is really the best - much better than trying to navigate an ebook. Most of their software is not free, but I see they offer big discounts for schools. Medical Wizards produce a couple nice apps, especially the Netter flash cards... but a lot of their titles are also produced by Skyscape better.
