Notice and warning for students of the First Faculty of Medicine
Notice and warning for students of the First Faculty of Medicine
Lately, there has been an increase in the number of personal belongings, money, and in particular documents stolen from students at the premises of the Faculty. These documents can subsequently be misused, and multiple damage may ensue. Through a theft of the student card (ISIC) and its subsequent unauthorized use, e.g. for entry to other buildings or their parts, the property is put at risk, both that of particular students or staff and that of the Faculty, in particular the equipment of classrooms, lecture halls etc.
Therefore I request you to take extreme caution rather than leaving your things and putting them aside unattended and/or at places that cannot be overlooked. It is advisable and in your best interest that you check your personal belongings and documents at all times. At a time, I call on you to be wary when entering particular buildings and premises of the Faculty, in case you unwillingly facilitate access of strange and unauthorized persons.
Once you find that your personal belongings and/or documents are lost or stolen, without delay contact immediately the local police station (Policie ČR – Obvodní ředitelství Praha II – Místní oddělení Nové Město) at Vyšehradská 1711/20, Praha 2. Concurrently, notify the Students' Affairs Department (possibly by electronic means) if your student card (ISIC) or student's record book (Index) are lost or stolen.
The form and instruction for subsequent indemnity claims are available on the official notice board of the First Faculty of Medicine of Charles University.
