Why choose the First Faculty of Medicine
Dear prospective students,
Thank you for your interest in studies at our Medical School.
The Charles University was founded in 1348 by the Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire and the Bohemian King, Charles the Fourth. Since its inception, it has a tradition of teaching a diverse student body in a variety of languages: originally, Latin was used as the official language, later accompanied by Czech, German and most recently, English. Today, the English-taught students form a considerable proportion of our medical class. It is our privilege and pleasure to offer the chance to join us also to you.
Prof. David Sedmera, English Studies Vice-dean
